Die USB-Ports der NAS'  haben 2 verschiedene Verwendungszwecke.

Die vorderen USB-Ports kann man nur im Targetbetrieb benutzen, d.h. Sie können Ihren NAS z.B. via USB-Kabel mit Ihrem PC verbinden und den NAS als externe Festplatte verwenden.

Die hinteren USB-Ports sind dafür gedacht, externe Festplatten, USB-Sticks, Printserver etc... anzuschließen. Wenn Sie eine externe Festplatte anschließen und diese als Speichererweiterung nutzen wollen, achten Sie bitte darauf das die von Ihnen genutzte Festplatte Ext3 / Ext4 formatiert ist.

The USB-Ports of your NAS-device have 2 different tasks.

The Front USB-Ports can only be used as Targetport, that means that you can use your NAS as an external Hard Drive for example.

The USB-Ports in the back can be used to connect USB-Sticks, external HDDs, Printserver etc... . If you want to connect an external Hard Drive and use it as attached Storage to Raid you are running, the connected external Hard Drive has to have an Ext3 / Ext4 formatting.
